Warner has announced final specs for 'The Shawshank Redemption,' which will receive the DigiBook treatment and Dolby TrueHD audio when it hits Blu-ray in early December.
As previously announced, the much-beloved modern classic (which currently sits atop IMDB's Greatest 250 Movies of All-Time user's poll) will finally hit high-def on December 2.
The studio has now confirmed final tech specs, which will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/VC-1 video, and audio flavors in English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround and English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround.
Extras will match the previous DVD special edition, including audio commentary with director Frank Darabont, a pair of featurettes ("Hope Springs Eternal: A Look Back at the Shawshank Redemption," "Shawshank: The Redeeming Feature"), a "Charlie Rose Show" interview with Darabont, Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, the comic spoof "The Sharktank Redemption," a still gallery and theatrical trailer.
Housed in Warner's DigiBook packaging, suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.
