DreamWorks Home Entertainment is bringing home the biggest animated hit of the year to HD DVD with a just-announced November debut for 'Shrek the Third.'
Grossing over $300 million at the domestic box office, 'Shrek the Third' will hit HD DVD November 13 day-and-date with the standard-def DVD version, in a feature-packed next-gen edition brimming with exclusive content.
Supplements mirroring the DVD version include nearly a dozen featurettes, lost scenes, a DreamWorks Video Jukebox and theatrical trailers.
Exclusive to the HD DVD are "The Animator's Corner" picture-in-picture commentary featuring storyboards, deleted scene pitches and technical goofs, "My Menu" customizable character menu skins, and web-enabled features to be made available after street date, including a "Shrek's Trivia Track," "Donkey's Digital Coloring Book" and more.
Tech specs may disappoint, however, as DreamWorks has opted to not support high-resolution audio with 'Shrek the Third,' with the disc including a Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround track (1.5mbps) only.
Retail is a suggested $39.95.
