'Fargo' Coming to Blu-ray

The Joel & Ethan Coen modern masterpiece 'Fargo' is coming to high-def, with MGM/Fox announcing a mid-May Blu-ray release.

The beloved 1996 multiple Oscar winner (including a Best Actress nod for Frances McDormand) will receive its eagerly anticipated Blu-ray debut on May 12, courtesy of MGM (via Fox Home Entertainment).

Tech specs will see 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.

Extras largely match the previous, rather slim DVD release, and include audio commentary with director of photography Roger A. Deakins, the "Minnesota Nice" and "Trivia Nice" features, an American Cinematographer article, still gallery, and theatrical trailer and TV spot.

Added to the Blu-ray is BD-Live connectivity, including the function "Boot Strap." (What this actually means has not yet been outlined, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.)

Suggested list price has been set at $34.95.
