The new 4K Blu-ray player is now available.
Sony has announced the launch of its UBP-X1100ESUBP 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player. The company's new flagship 4K Blu-ray player model has been designed with custom integration in mind, and is now available for an MSRP of $599.99
"We strive to provide our home viewer with content that matches the creator's intent, and the latest addition to our Blu-ray player lineup reflects that mission," said Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer, Sony Electronics North America. "No matter what content is playing on the UBP-X1100ES, it’s equipped to provide a theater-level experience every time."
The UBP-X1100ES offers 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, Super Audio CD, and CD playback. In addition, the device supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG high dynamic range formats. Likewise, the player also includes 4K upscaling capabilities at up to 60p. And when it comes to audio, the unit provides Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, along with DSEE HX (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) tech. That latter feature enables users to upscale the frequency and dynamic range of compressed music files to near high-resolution quality. Meanwhile, actual high-resolution audio playback is also supported via a wired connection.
USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity are included as well, and the device offers access to integrated Netflix and YouTube streaming apps. Finally, the player has also been optimized for custom integration, with IP Control over CAT 5 cable or Wi-Fi networks, RS232C two-way control, IR-IN, a web browser interface, and support for ihiji4.
The UBP-X1100ESUBP ($599 MSRP) now joins the company's previously released UBP-X800M2 ($299 MSRP) and UBP-X700 ($179 MSRP) 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Players.
