In an early retail announcement, Universal says it is bringing the latest big-screen 'Mummy' adventure to Blu-ray this December, along with a three-pack collection of the complete trilogy.
Starring Brendan Fraser, Maria Bello, and John Hannah, 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' barely squeaked past the $100 million mark at the domestic box office this past summer.
Universal will release the Rob Cohen-directed pic on December 16, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
Early tech specs will see 1080p video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.
There are no supplement details for the set as of yet, but as always, we'll keep you posted.
According to retailer reports, Universal is also planning to bring a 'Mummy' 3-pack to high-def on the same day, which will include 'Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' plus the previously-released Blu-rays of the first two installments in the series, 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns.' Watch this space for more details as they are confirmed.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.95.
