Post turkey shopping battle set to occur.
Today, the Target Black Friday preview hit, and confirmed what prior leaks from merchants like Walmart and Dell had already outlined, and that is that two very competitive bundles will be offered in limited supply on the day after Thanksgiving.
It might seem like old news now, but Microsoft has a pretty nice bundle lined up for this holiday period. The 'Assassin's Creed Unity' Xbox One bundle features the Xbox One console and digital copies of both 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' and this weeks 'Assassin's Creed Unity.' After the recent holiday price cut, the bundle check in at $349.99, and the doorbusters being teased for Black Friday are even cheaper. (Think $329.99 plus $50 credit cheaper.)
Meanwhile on the PS4, which is normally $399.99, there is also a new bundle inbound. The new bundle features a PS4 console plus 'The Last of Us Remastered' & the upcoming 'Grand Theft Auto V' and the doorbuster price is $399.99.
Naturally, these cutthroat deals are only for those first few in line or quickest to click. It's not like millions will have a real opportunity between these competing offers. Still, it's hard not to see the competition between these two big names filtering all the way down to the Black Friday buzz level. The Xbox One has a much lower barrier of entry price wise this year compared with last year, and in general, those consumers longing for a time when consoles regularly included games have to like the idea of bundle options and value inclusions. While all the especially good Black Friday console offers are set to sell out fast, this holiday may see many similar offers as merchants (and Sony & Microsoft) vie for that vaunted holiday purchase.
