EA also wants fast to know how the game's online requirements work.
Due out this year, EA and developer The Sims Studio haven't shared a tremendous amount of information about 'The Sims 4.' Today, that changes, as the game's Create A Sim is showcased in a new trailer. The Create A Sim is a big part the experience for fans and is integral for any new 'The Sims' game.
Also interesting is the 'The Sims 4' FAQ, which makes clear that the game only requires an initial online connection. Amazingly, it seems that EA has taken some lessons from the 'SimCity' online disaster.
Will there be an online component to The Sims 4?
There will be additional fun and social gameplay elements for players who choose to go online (more to come on that later on) but the core game is designed to be played offline. It’s up to the player to choose how they want to play.
Does The Sims 4 require the Origin™ client to play?
You will need an EA/Origin account to install the game. Once installed, you don't need to be online to play.
