ARK is getting festive.
Studio Wildcard has today updated its popular dinosaur-themed survival game 'ARK: Survival Evolved' with a bunch of holiday-themed content, bringing with it a host of challenges, holiday-themed items, outfits, and Raptor Claus, who'll be flying over the game world for the duration of the Winter Wonderland event. He'll be dropping items for players such as Reindeer Costumes, Santa Hats, Candy Cane Clubs, High-end Loot Blueprints, and Coal which allows players to summon a DodoRex if enough of it is gathered. Perhaps the coolest feature here is that Raptor Claus will occasionally drop Steam gift codes for the game.
Additionally, the update will drop the game's temperature, and so players can keep warm by decorating their houses with a bunch of holiday-themed items such as Christmas Lights, trees, and gift boxes to give to other players. The game will also be on sale on Steam for 40% off, bringing the game's price to $17.99 until January 4th.
I've always been a big fan of seasonal updates such as this one, and have really fond memories of Christmas events in games such as 'Final Fantasy XIV', so seeing that Studio Wildcard has really gone to town on the Winter Wonderland update is very cool. The developers are clearly having a lot of fun with this. You can check out a trailer for the update right here:
