Remember when M. Night Shyamalan was churning out one high-concept box office hit after another? It may seem like a long time ago, but his earliest films remain his best - and now The Sixth Sense and Signs are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd!
I was just beginning to wonder if we'd heard the last of the big October spooky season Halloween horror titles for 2024. Not that I was complaining about what was previously announced, but the news that Signs and The Sixth Sense will be coming to 4K after languishing on ancient Blu-ray discs is a very welcome update! According to the Press release, both films have been fully restored for 4K in HDR (they didn't specify grade, so presumably HDR10 only), but the great news is both films will drop on BD-100 discs - an elusive feature for Disney-owned titles. Both films will sport DTS-HD MA 5.1 tracks, no Atmos upgrades, and we don't have details for bonus features, but these are very exciting releases timed to drop just a couple of weeks before Shyamalan's latest thriller Trap is due to drop on disc!

So far, these aren't yet up for pre-order but we expect them to be shortly. If you're a fan, don't hesitate to get that order in, I got a hunch these will fly like the James Cameron discs and be damned difficult to locate. Also we haven't seen any "signs" of any retailer exclusives or SteelBooks, but we'll obviously update when/if that news comes in - Happy Collecting!
