The company's latest mobile app offers new features.
VUDU has announced the release of a new update for its mobile iOS and Android app. Version 5.0 includes new and expanded features like offline rental viewing and the ability to purchase Blu-rays and DVDs.
The VUDU mobile app allows users to rent or purchase over 100,000 movies and TV shows with a simple tap and swipe. Customers can then stream their selected content directly on their mobile devices. Likewise, users can also link their UltraViolet and Disney Movies Anywhere accounts to the app as well.
Here's a full rundown of new app features per the VUDU Blog:

Rental downloads – Save data and watch your movies offline, just in time for holiday travel! Now you can download both what you own and what you rent, and take it with you. Available on both iOS and Android.
Buy physical discs in app – Purchase Blu-ray or DVD directly in-app and get instant access to your digital copy on your mobile device. Available on both iOS and Android.
Extras+ experience – Discover the immersive in-movie world filled with bonus clips, behind the scenes content, storyline extras, filming locations, and much more – exclusively on the Vudu mobile app! Available on both iOS and Android; first titles coming soon.
Version 5.0 of the VUDU mobile app is now available for iOS and Android users through the iTunes app store and Google Play store. Outside of its updated mobile app, VUDU also recently launched a new "Movies On Us" selection of free, ad-supported digital movies and TV shows. The current library includes content from Paramount, WB, Lionsgate, MGM, Anchor Bay and others.
